Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  I am not a member of St. Clare Parish. Can I still join the Nursery School?

Absolutely! We have families from many different parishes who join our nursery school family.

2.  I am still looking at other nursery school programs. How soon should I send in the deposit?

ASAP. St. Clare Nursery School is very popular and well-known. A $150 non-refundable deposit is all you need to secure your spot!

3.  Do you have a daycare for my younger children?

No, we do not have daycare services. However, there are many "Mom’s Day Out" programs in the area that can accommodate your needs for your little one.

4. How often do I need to work?

Approximately once a month.

5.  Do I need to bring snacks?

Yes, approximately once a month. Parents will be given a snack and working schedule. All allergies are accommodated as well. Healthy snacks are encouraged.  We are a peanut and tree nut free school!

6.      Our child has a speech and language delay - would he/she be a good fit for the program?

You’re in luck! Our teacher/director has a degree in speech & language pathology. Please speak to the program director (Mrs. Shapiro) for more information on accommodations.

7.  What other commitments are required?

Besides working in the classroom, other commitments include four general membership meetings per year, a classroom job, clean-ups and some fund-raising. This is all set up for you and easy to accomplish.

8.      I’m pregnant. How can I participate?

We offer an optional maternity leave for anyone who has delivered or adopted a baby. Please contact the membership chair through our direct number for more information on our scheduling process.

9.      I work. Can I still participate in the co-op?

In the past, we have had parents with a variety of working schedules. As long as you can fulfill your obligations to work in the classroom once a month along with other duties listed above, then the program could work for you and your child.

10.  How does the staff communicate with parents?

Parent conferences, daily white board, newsletter, meetings, and website. In addition, teachers are available by phone.
